Dear New Home Shopper:

We know exactly how you are feeling right now. Overwhelmed, excited, confused, thrilled, and overloaded. You are not alone. When we first started looking, and found a brand new house that the builder was selling, we had all the same feelings. Two things will help you get through this adventure. The first is to continue to look forward to the day you get to move into your new house. The second is to have Terrylynn by your side. There is no way we could have ended up in our new home (and kept our sanity), if it wasn't for Terrylynn's help.

The day we found our house, the selling agent who was showing the house explained to us that he could act as our agent, as well as the builders agent (Terrylynn taught us that this is called "dual agency"). There were several reasons we were uncomfortable with this situation.

For one thing, we were first time home buyers. We had no idea what to expect as far as schedule, what things we would be responsible for, how escrow worked, how to put together an offer, who generally pays for what, or where to even begin. From the first time we talked to Terrylynn, she began patiently explaining the entire process. Her support and friendship are still continuing today.

Probably the main reason we wanted our own agent, was that this was the biggest purchase and most life changing transaction we had ever even dreamed of. And trusting all the paperwork, all the inspections, and all the negotiations to someone who was not concentrating purely on our best interests was simply unacceptable.

We found Terrylynn based on a friend's recommendation (which is the best kind, isn't it?) and have since passed her cards out to anyone we know who is even thinking about buying a home. As a result, she has been the agent (and friend, counselor, teacher...) for the purchase of homes for our family (sister and brother-in-law), our friends (co-workers), even one of the Pastors of our church. We are constantly being thanked for recommending her.

So the best, and most valuable advice we can give you is to find just the house you are looking for and let Terrylynn do the rest. Her first concern will always be your best interests, her calm, thorough explanations of all the paperwork you will be seeing (and you will be seeing A LOT!) will make the whole process not only manageable, but VERY exciting. You will also learn immediately that Terrylynn loves what she does and is very, very good at it.

Where do we begin? We are still a little bit in disbelief that we actually own the home we are living in. When we think about it we truly feel we wouldn't be in this position had it not been for you and your great resources like Cheryl at CMG Mortgate and your great assistant Amy.

We really appreciated you taking the time to truly listen to our "needs" and "wants". We liked being able to be honest about how we felt about certain properties and not feel pressured. If there is one thing we hate, it is a hard sell. You truly let us decide what we liked and didn't like and we never felt like you were just trying to make a sale. We felt you truly had our best interests at heart. With the few disappointments we had, you kept a positive attitude that helped us keep a positive attitude as well. You didn't let us get discouraged despite the crazy housing market and our price range.
