Our house first went on the market in the spring. We didn’t have any purchase offers, and by autumn we had to move leaving our house vacant. We didn’t want to do this because our agent told us our house would loose value if shown empty. He recommended Patricia from Style Sells Home Staging. She chose new paint colors and then set the house up with her rental things so that it looked lived in and cared for. We soon had a good offer on our house which we accepted.

I was about to list a century home full of character and charm. However, the house was vacant and along with the character and charm were all the quirks of an older home that sellers tend not to notice after living with them over a period of time. The seller understood though, that we had to view the home from the perspective of a buyer and agreed, somewhat reluctantly, to have the house staged. Sandra's staging was sympathetic to the character of the home. Her approach was to keep it clean and simple, yet warm and inviting. We appreciated her flexibility in working with both the seller and the agent, and in incorporating the seller's ideas and furnishings with her own inventory. The staging allowed us to set a price on the home that was reflective of its true market value. The added value of the staging meant the house had multiple offers and sold in two weeks for 94% of the asking price.
