Certified Staging Professionals™ Will Color Your House SOLD

St. Catharines, ON, Canada, December 20, 2006 – TV home makeover glamour hits the real estate market now that Certified Staging Professionals™ and Canadian Staging Professionals™ (CSP™), a home staging training program, has teamed up with the Dewey Color System®.  As part of their continuing education commitment, CSP™ will be providing its stagers the opportunity to train in the fine art of using color as a means to positively influence home buyers.  CSP™ graduates can now become Dewey Color Consultants as part of the continuing education program rolling out in the New Year.  The CSP™ organization has been selected as the first company in North America to study how color effects and impacts the sale of property.

By using color combinations that promote specific emotional responses, CSP™ staging consultants  can use the combination of décor, color and staging basics (cleanliness and removing clutter being at the top of the stager’s to-do list) to show a property in the best possible light,” says CSP™ founder Christine Rae.

Dewey Color System correlations between color preference and personality help home sellers create feeling throughout the whole house. Color is a reflection of personal style and taste; it is also an effective tool for altering perception of space in a variety of ways.  Color can be used to influence the psychological state of people, create harmony and interest, as well as provide a more completed look and feel.

Many sellers know a neutral palette, one which lacks intensity, will appeal to the widest buying audience.  However, when selling, it’s the reaction to color that matters – understanding undertone is crucial. The unique CSP™ Staging Safe™ color palette is currently used to create warm, exciting spaces.  During 2007, the CSP™ and Dewey Color System organizations will be monitoring how the Staging Safe™ colors influence decision-making in the sale of property.

Certified Staging Professionals™ are thoroughly tested before receiving their certification, and are known for their thorough training.  They are also known for applying lifestyle selling techniques in their staging.  By adding the patented Dewey Color Coordinator®, combined with the multi-patented Dewey Color System, to their tool kits, these top stagers are even better able to transform homes on the market, into properties sold in record time.

Specific color palettes are used to evoke particular emotional responses.

  • Calm (for a nursery),
  • Passion (for a bedroom)
  • Closeness (for a family area)

The Dewey Color Coordinator, along with the Dewey Color System color measurement and evaluation tool has been featured on HGTV.COM, CNN, National Public Radio, and in Better Homes and Gardens, Metropolitan Home, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post, and over 40 other national magazines. The Dewey Color System: Choose Your Colors, Change Your Life is a best seller in Japan and expanding worldwide. The Dewey Color System: The Ultimate Compatibility Test for Love, Friendship and Career Success was released in 2006. www.deweycolorsystem.com
