February 2006 – For Immediate Release

[Toronto January 06] – What’s the secret to an efficient and timely sale of a home in today’s market?  That question was the theme of the Canadian Home Marketing Strategist course taught recently in Toronto by Christine Rae & Suzanne Ethier certified trainers for the popular program by Martha Webb, author and producer of Dress Your House for Success.

Twelve Real Estate professionals attended the day-long course, & are now the first to be offering a broader range of new marketing expertise to home buyers and sellers after receiving their certification. Rae & Ethier teach the course to real estate agents nationwide. Over 2000 real estate professionals in the USA have earned this designation which combines staging – positioning a property to appeal to the home buyer’s emotions – and pricing expertise, to result in a strategic marketing approach to help houses sell faster and at higher prices.

Staging is a phenomenon applicable to every type of market, but none as much as todays. One need only look at current T.V. or news to see how much staging is influencing the selling process. This course integrates an in-depth understanding of the process and application that tailors staging to a seller’s specific needs and the current market.

“This marketing perspective is especially important in today’s market where houses are competing for more buyers,” said Ethier. “This certification is an extensive educational curriculum above and beyond the normal training of a licensed salesperson or a broker.”  “The course covers: studies of marketing homes in today’s competitive environment and fast-paced business world. Agents with the designation of Canadian Home Marketing Strategist can now assist clients better than ever.

The designation indicates an agent’s efforts to stay abreast of current trends in the industry, in addition to being approved by RECO to qualify for MCE credit hours” said Rae.

“Thoroughly understanding the marketplace to effectively price a property is key to the delicate balance of real estate sales, I was surprised how much I could still learn despite my 20+yrs experience & background” says Irma Eibich (Remax Condos Plus Assoc Broker) who took course “Additionally, learning to stage the property helps buyers see the true potential of a house, providing a glimpse of what it would be like to live there, an essential element in the purchasing decision.”

Wendy Fuller, Keller Williams Durham Region, adds: “I’m really excited about this designation being Canadian based. We reviewed case studies of marketing strategies that resulted in sales within days and increases from 5 to 20 percent in sales price, and I’m anxious to put that additional knowledge to work for my home sellers.”

Other participants in the course were really thrilled they learned specifically how to position staging with their clients, how to price better & very importantly how to work with a Canadian Staging Professional.
