Janet Hinton, CCSP®, P.P., owner of Vive la Staging!®, brings a broad scope of knowledge and experience to her real estate Staging business. In addition to a life-long love of design and decorating, her work experience includes the position of Designer with B.B. Bargoon's, Toronto; Colvin Design, Ottawa as well as Buyer (Furniture and Design Services) for North American Life Assurance Company serving offices in both Canada and The United States. Ms. Hinton received her design training at The University of Manitoba and Algonguin College, Ottawa. As well, she received her training as a Purchaser at Ryerson Polytechnic University.

PROPERTY STAGING

1. Consultation

This is generally a 2-hour session based on a 1800 sq ft. property. Following a guided tour of your property (both inside and out), we will present you with a detailed written report. This will consist of a list of our recommendations including the most important improvements to be made to your property prior to presenting it to the market in order to effect a higher return on your investment (i.e. repainting using 'staging safe' colours, refinishing of hardwood flooring, removal of wall-to-wall carpeting, etc.). Other recommendations will include de-cluttering, the removal and storage of items, landscaping maintenance, etc.).

2. Work To Be Done

There are two options for completing the list of improvements given in the initial Consultation: (1) utilizing the services of our professional trades, or (2) completing the work yourself.

If you choose to have the professionals do the work, we will provide you with a list of preferred professional trades. On the other hand, if you opt to do the work yourself, we can assist with your cost savings by passing on our CCSP discounts for a variety of products and services.

3. Showcasing

‘Fine tuning’ is the final step in which we will set the stage by creating a property reflective of the lifestyle buyers are searching for enticing them to want to buy.

Your property will be showcased as spacious, with better traffic flow featuring its key focal points. This will be accomplished through our trained experts' placement of furniture, proper lighting, artwork, accessories and any props.


SENIOR MOVE MANAGEMENT

Our caring experts will assist you and/or your loved family member(s) make the often difficult transition from their home to smaller accommodations including a retirement or care facility with ease.

We will offer guidance through the entire process from the identification of what should be held onto including those special sentimental items to the necessary editing and purging of possessions. From there, we will pack and arrange for movers to deliver your selected possessions to your new home and any items not moving with you to relatives, into storage or to charitable organizations as donations. And we can offer a cost saving by passing on CCSP discounts for moving, storage and junk removal.

And, finally, we will work with you to establish the most functional and comfortable layout for your new home and then set it up for you. Should additional items be required, we will also do the shopping for you.
