Staging Works and Gets Results

You have 6 minutes to impress your potential buyer and since most people will view a home online first, staging is a necessity prior to listing your home. Staging works by emotionally connecting the potential buyer to your home so that they are mentally moving in even before they even drive up!

The Process of Staging

The first step in staging a property is a consultation with a room by room evaluation. Typical recommendations include de-cluttering, organizing, pre-packing non crucial items, painting walls, and updating light fixtures.

Step two is to implement the recommendations. The client may choose to do all or part of the work themselves, or Studio 48 North will provide a crew.

The last step is the showcasing of the home. This is where the magic of staging occurs. The best features of the home are highlighted using furniture, props, and accessories.

Who is this person

As a Certified Interior Decorator, CDECA, Alison opened Studio 48 North in 2003. She has worked extensively with construction companies in choosing everything from the roofing and stucco materials to the cabinetry, flooring and paint colours for their show homes & spec homes. In some cases, her services were built into the price of each new home sold, so that the new homeowners not only moved into a beautifully constructed home, everything was colour co-ordinated to their exact standards as well.

As a Certified Canadian Staging Professional, Alison brings the same exacting standards and attention to detail that is required in Interior Decorating. However, in staging, those standards are aimed directly at the POTENTIAL BUYER, not the property owner.

Alison is a proud member in good standing of RESA, (Real Estate Staging Association), CDECA, (Canadian Decorators' Association), WPG, (Winnipeg Professionals Group), & WBOM, (Women Business Owner's of Manitoba).
